Michael Grant has practiced law in Charleston for over 30 years, concentrating in the areas of taxation, business and estate planning, with special emphasis upon the representation of closely-held businesses and their owners. He has guided several Charleston businesses for more than 25 years and through multiple generations of family ownership.
Mr. Grant is involved with numerous professional, civic and charitable organizations, including having served as President of both the Charleston Tax Council and the Estate Planning Council of Charleston, Board Chair of the Charleston Orphan House (Carolina Youth Development Center), and a board member of Lowcountry Orphan Relief, the Hibernian Society of Charleston Foundation, and Charleston Leadership Foundation. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Grant served as a staff attorney for the South Carolina Supreme Court. He served for many years on the South Carolina Supreme Court’s Board of Commissioners on Grievance and Discipline. Mr. Grant is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a specialist in taxation law. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of taxation law, having been named Lawyer of the Year in that specialty in 2011, and has been named a South Carolina Super Lawyer.

Jim Kuyk has practiced law in Charleston for nearly 30 years, concentrating in the areas of corporate law, taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and emerging company issues, with special emphasis upon the representation of small and medium sized privately-held companies and their owners.
Mr. Kuyk is involved with numerous professional, civic and charitable organizations, including having served as President of the Charleston Tax Council. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of taxation law and trusts and estates. He is also an adjunct professor of Business Law at the College of Charleston.

Carter Grant concentrates his practice in areas of business law, taxation, and estate planning. He advises individuals, closely held businesses and their owners on a range of corporate, transactional, and planning matters.
He counsels business clients in matters ranging from entity formation, corporate governance, and general commercial contract issues to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financing transactions and reorganizations. Carter regularly advises individuals in basic will and trust preparation, probate administration, as well as complex estate planning and wealth preservation techniques. Carter grew up in Charleston and graduated from Davidson College and Wake Forest University School of Law. He lives in Mt. Pleasant with his wife and their three children.
